Lionesses Brace Up For Second Game

After their 2-1 win against Mali in their first outing on Saturday November 17, 2018, the Lionesses are leaving nothing to chance in order to secure a victory today.

The Women’s Africa Cup of Nations enters the second playing day today in both groups. The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon will play against the Fennecs of Algeria in the second Group A game today at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Ahead of the encounter preparations have intensified in the Lionesses den. After their 2-1 win against Mali in their first outing on Saturday November 17, 2018 the Lionesses are leaving nothing to chance in order to secure a victory today. In their Alisa Hotel residence in Asylom Down, Accra the moral is good. The players work according to schedule and are focused on today’s challenge. The Lionesses need to win today’s encounter in order to secure a place in the second round. After breakfast yesterday November 19, 2018, the Lionesses had a press conference at the Accra Sports Stadium.

During the press conference, AS Nancy striker and the best player of the first match against Mali, Marlyse Ngo Ndoumbouk said she and her colleagues are upbeat and ready to face any team. This was followed by a training session at the El-wak Stadium in Accra in the afternoon. The press as usual was granted fifteen minutes after which the training continued behind closed doors. Yesterday’s training session was an opportunity for Coach Joseph Ndoko and players to work out winning strategies in order to give the best performance today.

For today’s encounter Coach Joseph Ndoko will be counting on the talents of Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene, Gaelle Enganaouit, Meffoumetou and Nchout Ajara, amomg others. The objective of team is to lift the trophy and secure a ticket for the World Cup. The Indomitable Lionesses have appeared in every edition of the competition. They have finished as runners up in four editions. In the last edition in 2016 in Cameroon they lost to the Super Eagles of Nigeria 0-1. The top three teams in the competition will qualify for the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France.
