MINEPIA: FCFA 32.343 To Improve Animal Production

The budget is intended to continue with the implementation of four key programmes.

The Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, Dr Taiga at the Committee on Finance and Budget of the National Assembly on November 25, 2018 defended the draft budgetary allocation of his ministry for the 2019 financial year that stands at FCFA 32,343, 179,000 in commitment authorization and appropriation. The 2019 budget of MINEPIA has witnessed a decline by 7.85 per cent in relative terms and FCFA 2,756,331, 000 in absolute terms compared to that of 2018 that stood at FCFA 35.100 billion. Dr Taiga explained that FCFA 15,123,000,000 of the 2019 draft budget is intended to be used as capital expenditure and FCFA 17,220, 179,000 will be used as operating expenditure. MINEPIA, he said, also plans to transfer to Local and Regional Authorities the sum of FCFA 3 billion to support the process of decentralization and transfer skills to the municipalities for the promo tion of pastoral and fishing farming act...
