MINPOSTEL: Priority To Densification of Networ

The budget demand of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications for the 2019 financial year stands at FCFA 48.351 billion.

Minister Minette Libom Li Likeng Mendomo of Posts and Telecommunications on November 25, 2018 in the Committee on Finance and Budget of the National Assembly defended the draft budgetary allocation for the 2019 financial year that stands at FCF 48.351 billion. The Ministry proposes to use FCFA 43.427 billion for investment and FCFA 4.924 billion for recurrent expenditure. The priority of MINPOSTEL for 2019 is to execute several activities grouped under three main programmes. They include the densification of network and improvement of National Postal Coverage, development and optimization of networks of telecommunications services and ICT, and finally governance and institutional support of the Postal, Telecommunications and ICT sub-sector. Minister Minette Libom Li Likeng further explained that the budget compared to that of 2018 has witnessed an increase of FCFA 2.25 billion in investment resources, mainly due to the financing of 2019 AFCON activities.
