Security Concerns Remain Converging Point

France continues to be Cameroon’s reliable friend with relations between the two countries growing exponentially. Thursday, November 6, 2018 served as another time to further consolidate the growing cooperation ties as President Paul Biya and the Ambassador of France to Cameroon, Gilles Thibault spent over three hours in the Unity Palace audience examining the different aspects. It emerged from the talks that security concerns continue to unite the two countries as the two officials reportedly discussed the war against terrorism and the socio-political crisis in the North West and South West Regions. France is one of Cameroon’s dependable partners in security and defence cooperation manifested by the French material and training support to Cameroon in the war against Boko Haram. France has been at the pivot of training senior military officials in Cameroon in the Yaounde International War College. In the economic and specifically development sector, France has been on the lips of many Cameroonians thanks to the Debt Reduction Development Contracts (C2D) whose third phase that spans for eight years was signed on June 30, 2016.
