Bilingualism In Practice: Commission Evaluates FEICOM’s Implementation Level

This was during a working visit led by Ama Tutu Muna on December 10, 2018, to the more than 40-year-old government establishment.

Staff of the Special Council Support Fund for Mutual Assistance, better known in its French acronym as FEICOM, on December 10, 2018, received some members from the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism  led by Ama Tutu Muna. The delegation was on an evaluation mission to assess the level of bilingualism in the structure. They visited several services and paid attention to notices for internal and external communication to ascertain if both official languages were being given consideration.

Ama Tutu Muna told journalists that her team was visiting FEICOM to assess the level of bilingualism practice. “My team has the mandate to assess the level of practice of bilingualism and to highlight the positive aspects, identify the shortcomings and their causes with the viewed guaranteeing a perfectly bilingual administration pursuant to the constitutional provisions that make English and French official languages of equal value,” she stated.
