Tour de l’espoir: Debesay Wins Competition

The competition ended after the fifth stage in Yaounde on Saturday February 9, 2019.

Eritrea’s Yakpob Debesay is overall winner of the second edition of the U23 Africa Cycling Cup of Nations in Cameroon called “Tour de l’espoir”. Organised by Vivendi Sports in collaboration with the Cameroon Cycling Federation (FECACYCLISME), the competition brought together cyclists from 18 countries in the world. The competition ended after the fifth lap, a closed circuit race along the streets of Yaounde on Saturday February 9, 2019. The cyclists covered a distance of 69.3km.

The last stage was won by Rwanda’s Moise Mugisha in 1h57’29”. He was followed by Ecuador’s Santiago Montenegro and Japan’s Shoi Matsuda. Yakob Debesay finished on the sixth position.
