Cameroon’s Health Programme: WHO Regional Director Updated

Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, who was received in audience yesterday by the Prime Minister, equally lauded government’s universal health coverage policy

The Regional Director of the World Health Organisation (WHO) for Africa, Dr. Matshidiso Moeti was received in audience on February 21, 2019 by the Prime Minister, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute during which she was updated on government’s health programme and activities. The Regional Director who is in Cameroon for an official visit appreciated the recently announced universal health coverage policy by the Head of State, Paul Biya. Speaking to the press after the audience, Dr. Matshidiso said the objective of her visit is to come and learn while understanding in-depth and getting an update about the progress being made by government to improve the health of the population.

“The reason being that we can see how to adjust our contribution and make our support to be the most relevant and effective. We equally want to support the country to achieve the results that the President of the Republic, H.E Paul Biya has expressed that he wants to see,” she stated.
