Seeking Solutions In Partnership

The interrelated nature of human activities and even nations is irreversible today even if some people and nations tend to look more inwards than going for collective action. Cameroonian authorities under the leadership of the Head of State know and continue to demonstrate their attachment to valuable friendship either at the bilateral or multilateral levels.

Cases in point where President Biya has always taken full measure of the key role played by friends of Cameroon are in various development projects in the country, complicated situations like the Bakassi border conflict, Boko Haram incursions in the Far North Region and of late the crisis in the South West and North West Regions.

Getting Cameroon actively involved in international organisations like the Commonwealth, the International Organisation of the Islamic Conference, the International Organisation of the Francophonie and of course the United Nations Organisation has been the surest way to ensure that the country remains present among major world actors.

While insisting on the respect of national sovereignty, the Head of State has always given a listening ear to the views of both bilateral and multilateral partners of the country, especially when faced with teething problems of development or conflict. A good number of Cameroonians have hardly hesitated in rejecting all attempts at pushing the country into values that negate the national character.

This national revolt against foreign imposed values has often been seen through motions of support addressed to the Head of State appreciating his steadfastness in maintaining the territorial integrity of Cameroon.

Any attempt to either segment the country or use any part of the national territory for unorthodox practices has always been discouraged. The sense of patriotism, which is simply the show of love for country that Cameroonians have poured at certain critical moments in the history of the nation, generally reflects the desire of the Head of State to ensure that the country should maintain its uniqueness, diversity and focus.

An example has been the messages of support to the Head of State from across the country with mostly supporters of the ruling party calling on the President of the Republic to remain steadfast in looking for solutions to the ongoing unrest in the South West and North West Regions.
