E-filling : Taxation Dep’t Edifies Taxpayers

The Directorate General of Taxation in the Ministry of Finance has explained to service users some innovations related to the electronic payment of taxes in the country. This was during a forum organised on the sideline of the International Exhibition for Enterprises, SMEs and Partnership, PROMOTE, Thursday January 21, 2019.

The exchange was held under the theme: “Dematerilisation of tax procedures: The experience of the Directorate General of Taxation.” The forum was moderated by Viviane Ondoua Biwole, Deputy Director of the Higher Institute of Public Management Yaounde, and presided over by Modeste Mopa Fatoing, Director General of Taxation.

During the forum, which is part of a government initiative to digitalise the public service, officials of the Director General of Taxation announced that by March 2019, they will roll out a platform which will enable taxpayers to electronically pay all their taxes. They said the innovations will reduce cost, ameliorate the quality of service and simplify the tax procedure to the taxpayers. For the government, it will secure tax money, ease the task for administrative staff and reduce human resources and materials.
