Driving Schools: Training Fees Increased

An Ordinary Congress of the Syndicate for Driving School Owners in Cameroon took place in Yaounde on Friday, November 11, 2016.

 

The cost of training in driving schools in the country will now range between FCFA 250, 000 and FCFA 300,000. This is one of the major resolutions taken during an Ordinary Congress of the Syndicate for Driving School Owners in Cameroon that took place in Yaounde on Friday, November 11, 2016. The congress which brought together members from across the country consisted of an evaluation of the work done for the past two years, harmonising the new rates for driving schools and come to out with innovations.

At the end of the congress, the members decided that the cost of training in driving schools cost FCFA 250, 000 and FCFA 300,000 the fast track. The National President of SNEAEC, S.M. François Ngah Mesobo said the new fees is in conformity with the number of hours prescribed by the Ministry of Transport. He said formerly the cost of training stood at FCFA 150,000 with ten hours of theory and 20 hours of practical work. But now the Ministry of Transport stresses on 20 hours of driving and 40 hours of practical work. Registration fees in to driving schools has also increased from FCFA 5000 to FCFA10, 000.
