Minister Boosts Morale Of Customs Officers

This was during a common meal shared by staff of the Ministry of Finance at the Yaounde City Council town hall.

The Minister of Finance, Louis Paul Motaze, has encouraged officers of the Directorate General of Customs on the occasion of the 47th National Day celebration. This was during a common meal shared by staff of the Ministry of Finance at the Ongola Samba hall of the Yaounde City Council. On hand was the Director General of Customs, Edwin Fongod Nuvaga, the Director General of Taxation, Modeste Mopa Fatoing, amongst other dignitaries.

Minister Motaze lauded the gallant customs officers for their efforts in collecting revenue for the State. He urged them to keep up the spirit so that the customs department can meet its targeted revenue of FCFA 850 billion this year. The Minister also insisted on discipline. The dinner was an occasion for the Minister of Finance to transmit to the Director General of Customs and his officers, the congratulations of the Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces for their participation in the May 20 march-past.

During the common meal, attendees were treated to a variety of Cameroonian dishes from the different cultural zones of the country – a strong implication of Cameroon’s unity in diversity and national integration.
