Douala : Ad Lucem Receives New Equipment

The material donated by its foreign partners is worth over FCFA 100 million.

The Ad Lucem Medical Foundation in Cameroon on Thursday May 23rd received a new consignment of equipment from its foreign partners in a ceremony at its premises in Bonamoussadi presided over by the Senior Divisional Officer for Wouri. Speaking during the ceremony, the General Administrator of Ad Lucem, Dr Bidjogo Atangana, said the equipment is going to enable them complete their technical platform in preparation for the universal health coverage to be instituted in Cameroon. He said the universal health coverage will demand technical and human resources to enable the staff take care of patients in Cameroon. He said the Ad Lucem hospitals are for the poor and that patients have to be treated with kindness. He said Ad Lucem will always treat patients first before asking for payment, “Life before money” he said.
Other orators during the event included the General Manager of Denk Pharma, Ad Lucem’s partner in the provision of drugs and medical equipment who said the pharmaceutical company provides products which are of the same quality as in Germany. Prior to them, the board chair of Ad Lucem, Tefak Madeleine said this is the second consignment of gifts received from their foreign partners within a period of five months which depicts the confidence the partners have in the foundation. She expressed the wish to see Ad Lucem serve as a laboratory of living together in Cameroon. Representing the SDO, the first assistant, Jean Philippe Ngo Mebe said health is one of the major objectives of Cameroon’s drive towards emergence.
