ENSET Graduates New Batch of Teachers

The ceremony was presided at by the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education on Friday

Some 1567 laureates constituting the 7th batch of Guidance Counsellors and the 40th batch of technical teachers graduated from ENSET-Douala on Friday August 30 in a grandiose ceremony presided at by the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education and Chancellor of Academic Orders, Jacques Fame Ndongo. He urged the new teachers to uphold academic excellence and be ready to serve wherever within the national territory and to feel at home. He warned them about the abandonment of duty posts. He disclosed that the president of the Republic, Paul Biya, ordered the addition of 1000 more spaces for the competitive exams into teacher training colleges with 500 of those spaces reserved for ENST Kumba, ENSET Douala and ENS Bambili.

The Rector of Douala University, Magloire Ondoa harped on the various initiatives he has been making to acquire infrastructure to accommodate all courses offered by the university saying the wellbeing of students is at the centre of all interest. He also announced plans to boost research by putting aside a research fund and to also speed up the defence of thesis in the university. In order to appease tensions in the campus, he has opened dialogue with the administrative staff and students and will soon be holding talks with lecturers once the academic year begins.
