Bamenda-based IDPs Get Relief

It is the third time in the month of September 2019 that the distribution exercise is taking place in the North West regional capital.

Following instructions by the Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, Coordinator of the Emergency Humanitarian Assistance Plan put in place by the Head of State, some additional 3,000 internally displaced persons have benefited from the relief scheme. The humanitarian aid was handed over to the IDPs who constitute about 500 families on Friday September 27, 2019. The handing over ceremony was held at the premises of the North West Governor’s office and was presided over by the Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam, Songa Pierre Rene.

The humanitarian aid distributed last Friday consists of matrasses, blankets, buckets, soap, sardine, cooking oil as well as financial assistance to each of the families. The ceremony saw the active involvement of agents of the Regional Coordination Unit of the Humanitarian Assistance for the North West and the Department of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Territorial Administration.
