Council Resources: Raising, Securing Guides Available

Regional seminars to popularise the guides were launched in Yaounde November 21, 2016.
Cameroon’s City, Subdivisional and local Councils are expected to raise and secure resources in an optimal manner in the near future as the guide on Fiscal Regime Applicable to Councils and that on the Mobilisation and Securing Council Resources have been produced and are being popularised. The inaugural regional seminars on the two guides was launched at the Yaounde Mont Fébé Hotel, Monday, November 21, 2016.
The event chaired by the Minister Delegate at the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation in charge of Decentralisation, Jules Doret Ndongo, brought together key stakeholders in the council resources regulation who include Senior Divisional Officers, mayors, council and State finance officials, as well as partners. He cited some of the challenges hindering the optimal mobilisation and securing of council resources to include lack of traceability in managing of council taxes, mobilisation of the resources and serene collaboration between the council and State finance officials.
