U23 AFCON : Cameroon Seeks Qualification

To reach the semi-finals, the U23 Lions need only a draw today, November 14, 2019, at the Cairo International Stadium.

The national men’s U23 Lions will play their last group game against host country Egypt today, November 14, 2019 at the Cairo International Stadium. Even though Cameroon won the second match against Mali 1-0 they have not yet qualified for the semi-finals phase of the competition. Today’s match will be a decisive one for the U23 Lions of Cameroon as they need only a draw to qualify for the semi-finals of the ongoing U23 AFCON in Egypt. 
After their victory over Mali on Monday, November 11, 2019, the Head coach, Rigobert, Song in a press conference stressed that the team’s objective to reach the semi-finals has not yet been attained despite the win. He cautioned the players to remain focused and materialise their goal scoring chances against Egypt in their last group game today.
