Local Material: Israeli Diplomat Impressed With Cameroon’s Technology

His Excellency Ran Rigor visited production units of the Local Material Promotion Authority on August 10, 2016.

 

The Israeli Ambassador to Cameroon, Ran Rigor says technology used to produce local construction and decoration material by the Local Materials Promotion Authority, MIPROMALO is cutting edge and full of inspiration. The Israeli diplomat was at the Nkolbisson-based brick production plant; one of the factories of MIPROMALO; a public establishment placed under the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation.

“We all thought until few years ago that traditional ways of construction were old-fashioned but we now know that those ways are the best,” Ran Rigor said, after visiting the mechanical workshop, production unit and ovens at the Nkolbisson plant where fired bricks are produced. He was impressed at the technology, stating that it falls within the UN Agenda for sustainability. The visit continued at the MIPROMALO Head Office in Nkolbikok-Yaounde where the Ambassador was showed how compressed earth blocks, fine ceramic, potteries and beads were produced.
