Party officials are already working on fine-tuning strategies and the campaign means.
The ambiance that has characterised the Dr Adamou Ndam Njoya’s Cameroon Democratic Union (CDU) on the aftermath of the pre-electoral disputes of the February 9, 2020 legislative and municipal elections is at two levels.
Party official and member of the Political Bureau Koupit Adamou told Cameroon Tribune that the party is working tooth and nail to replace the candidate that was declared illegible in the Kye-Ossi Council in the South Region. He said the new candidate has to be submitted at Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) latest today. The only regret, he said, is the fact that the CDU will not compete in the Guéré Council in Mayo-Danay Division of the Far North Regions where he claimed political manoeuvres delayed them from submitting nomination papers on time.
At the moment, preparations are gathering momentum in different organs of the Cameroon Democratic Union to get campaign material and means ready considering that campaigns for the twin elections is expected to be launched on January 25, 2020. In the about to expire ninth legislative period of the National Assembly, CDU has four seats in the Noun Division and five councils in the same division.
