MINPOSTEL: Ambitious Postal Coverage Planned Unveiled

The Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Minette Libom Li Likeng defended the draft budget in the Committee on Finance and Budget.
The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MINPOSTEL) is requesting the budget of FCFA 53.388 billion to implement major programmes contained in its three-year vision. With the budget the ministry intends to continue to implement some priority actions contained in the programmes. One of the programmes is network densification and improving the national postal coverage and developing the universal post service in order to promote universal access to postal and financial services throughout the national territory.
Another key programme the ministry targets in 2017 is telecommunications and ICTs. The aim of the programme is to improve the service offer in quantity and quality and at affordable prices. According to the minister, this require the reinforcement of high speed telecommunications infrastructure.
