March 22nd Legislative Re-run : Competing Parties On The Field

Campaigns ahead of the re-run of legislative elections in the North West region are expected to gain momentum as the day approaches.

Twelve days to the March 22, 2020 re-run of elections in some Constituencies of the North West region, most concerned political parties are yet to be visible on the campaign space. Things heard at the Bamenda-based head office of the UDP party of Lawan Bako indicates that, their four candidates in the race are on the field and popular campaign meetings are yet to be on schedule because of security threats in the region. The UDP features candidates for the re-run of legislative elections in the four constituencies of Bui South, Jakiri special constituency, Menchum North which covers Fungom and Furu Awa, Mezam North, (Bafut/ Tubah) and Mezam Centre (Bamenda/Bali).
Away from the UDP, the Regional launch of CPDM campaigns are expected in Bamenda tomorrow, March 12, 2020. Trends after the February 9th legislative elections featured the CPDM winning in virtually all the constituencies in the North West except Boyo.
