China Offers Floating Dock To Cameroon Navy

A protocol agreement to this effect was signed yesterday November 30, 2016 in Yaounde.

 

The Cameroon Navy will soon have a floating dock, thanks to a protocol agreement signed yesterday November 30, 2016 in Yaounde between the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo and the Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon, Wei Wenhua. The floating dock is a gift to the Cameroon Navy, fruit of excellent bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Speaking at the event, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence lauded strengthened relations between both countries in several spheres, including the military cooperation. Minister Beti Assomo stressed that Sino-Cameroon military relations have witnessed significant growth in the recent years. The partnership between the People’s Republic of China and Cameroon in the military domain is in the areas of training and equipment.

Cameroon, he added, has received diverse military equipment from China to the tune of FCFA 1.1 billion in 2011 and FCFA 2.2 billion in 2013. Wh...
