Agro-industrial Technical Centre Created

UNIDO has reiterated its pledge to disburse over FCFA 98 million as financial support.

A constituent assembly meeting composed of government representatives, European Union and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, UNIDO, has set up a centre to analyse the processed agro-industrial products. Dubbed Agro-industrial Technical Centre, CTA, the newly created structure will see to it such products meet the norms of the Standards and Quality Agency, ANOR, for public security before their sale on the local and international markets.

CTA thus will help maintain norms, innovate, help in obtaining certification as well as keep local industries competitive with foreign industries that have virtually overshadowed the local market, especially with the advent of the Economic Partnership Accord with the European Union.
