2016 Women's AFCON: Volunteers Facilitate Services

The services of young volunteer workers in the two host cities cannot be underestimated.  

Volunteerism is one of the major aspects of the 10^th Women AFCON 2016 in Cameroon. Since the start of the competition, services of young volunteer workers in the two host cities can be underestimated. Dressed in sky blue out fits volunteers are present in all sectors and available at all times. Lucie Mengue, a Yaounde inhabitant said she enjoys going to watch the matches in the stadium not for anything but for the services rendered by the volunteers.

The role of the volunteers is to be at the service of the different structures of the organising committee and modify the domain of logistics in certain technical aspects. Another important role of the volunteers is the reception and hospitality towards visitors. A total of 200 volunteers were selected to work in Yaounde and Limbe. In Yaounde the volunteers are divided into several groups- the hostesses who receive visitors from the airport, the protocol group, accreditation group, media volunteer group media which give out information to journalist etc.
