Buea: PM, CPDM SG To Hold Public Meeting Today

The call for peace is high on the agenda of the December 6, 2016 get-together.

The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang was announced in Buea yesterday by 5 pm. Information from the South West Governor’s office hinted that he would hold working sessions today (Tuesday) in Buea and attend a grand meeting to be chaired by the Secretary General of the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM), Mr. Jean Nkeute, at the Buea ceremonial grounds known as Bongo Square.

The CPDM Scribe will preside at the grand meeting at 2pm today. All South West Parliamentarians, Mayors, Party officials and the general public have been convened to the Buea meeting where a call for peace is awaited following two weeks of ghost schools and Anglophone Lawyers strike.

Meanwhile, schools remained timidly attended in Buea yesterday with some pupils and students spotted in uniform around school premises. At the University of Buea, a list of students qualified to receive President Paul Biya’s bursaries of CFA 50.000 each was pasted since last Thursday. The list of eligible students is constantly consulted as effective payments began last Thursday at the University of Buea with Masters Students.

At the Bilingual Grammar School (BGS) Molyko, classes were not effective but some teachers and students were seen in the campus. Cameroon Tribune met the Principal of BGS, Mrs. Hannah Mbua Etonde, on her office files. She told CT that some teachers were working on student report cards for the first term exams. At the Sumerset High School Molyko, the Principal told this reporter that it was timid but that it is equally time to register for GCE. The story was true for many other schools both primary and Secondary.
