Evaluation of Covid-19 Response Plan : Minister Deliberates With Independent Experts

The meeting looked at proposals to be considered in research findings in the fight against the pandemic.

In prelude to the launching of the 4th phase of the National Response Plan against the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, the Minister of Public Health, Malachie Manaouda, has called on independent experts and university dons to contribute in ensuring that the government comes up with an effective plan to curb the pandemic in the country. He was speaking yesterday, August 26, in Yaounde as he continued discussions and negotiations relating to the evaluation of government's response plan to fight-back Covid-19.
In his opening remarks, Minister Malachie Manaouda underlined that the government is open to the experience of the experts to curb Covid-19 in the country. As such, their suggestions would help the government better reorient different strategies to hold back the pandemic. The Minister of Public Health highlighted what is being done against Covid-19 since the first case was reported in the country. Although the existing strategic plan seems to yield positive results, the strength and weaknesses of the response plan need to be re-examined. “This will give the health sector, an opportunity to explore new horizons and look at possible problems that may be encountered as the population moves towards a normal life style with airspace and borders opening”, the Health boss explained.
