German Ambassador to Cameroon, Dr. Corinna Fricke is quoted in the communique to have said; “The Regional Stabilization Facility for Lake Chad is a joint effort of the national government, governors, security forces and civil society. In Amchidé, for example, they all work closely together to build partnerships for lasting peace and stability, and hopefully this will result in the opening of the Amchidé-Banki border crossing and the revival of regional trade. This would open up many job opportunities in the region, would help stabilize the region and reduce the recruitment of young unemployed people by Boko Haram."
