Regional Elections Registration Cards : Printing Begins Soon

Elections Cameroon shall distribute the cards within 20 days preceding the election of regional councillors.

In line with electoral material preparation for the election of regional councillors on December 6, 2020, Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) will in the days ahead print registration cards for members of the two electoral colleges of the election. These registration cards are special voters’ cards that would be used by municipal councillors and traditional rulers to vote regional councillors. They cannot be used for another election and would be made available to electors within 20 days preceding the elections as stated in the Electoral Code. “Registration cards shall be distributed by the divisional branches of Elections Cameroon, within the 20 days preceding the elections. Cards not distributed shall remain at the disposal of the holders until the close of the poll at the divisional branch of Elections Cameroon,” states Section 226 of the Code. 
ELECAM officials thus say they would soon start the printing of the said cards given that they were waiting on the updated lists of members of the two electoral colleges from the different divisional branch offices.
