Ballot Papers, Campaign Ballots Sizes : ELECAM Highlights Pertinent Precisions

In a decision signed on October 28, 2020, the Director General of Elections gives a prescription on the sizes of ballot papers and posters for the election campaign of December 6 polls.

In connection to ballot papers and campaign ballots to be used during the election of regional councillors on December 6, 2020, the Director General of Elections, Erik Essousse, in a decision has outlined the characteristics of the aforementioned electoral material. These precisions are in accordance with Section 87 (1) and 88 (2) of the Electoral Code which respectively state that the maximum size of posters prepared for electoral campaign and the size of ballot papers shall be determined by decision of the General Director of Elections. 
Going by the decision, each ballot paper size shall be 150 by 100 millimetres and shall be printed on paper weighing between 60 and 90 grammes per square metre. “It shall be the same colour as that chosen by the political party  or list of candidates in the nomination papers and shall bear inscriptions concerning the political party or list of candidates, including the full name, logo or acronym on the front side,” partly highlights the decision. The ballot paper shall bear the words “Republic of Cameroon”, and “2020 Election of Regional Councillors” in both English and French. The back of the said ballot paper shall be black. 
As per the campaign ballot, the decision of the Director General of Elections indicates that it shall be a sample of the ballot paper and shall be marked “Campaign ballot” in English and French.
