Air Transport Bill : Amendment Proposes Better Security

The scrutinised bill seeks to make air transport services between Cameroon and the United Arab Emirates more competitive.

A bill which authorises the President of the Republic to ratify the agreement between the government of the Republic of Cameroon and the government of the United Arab Emirates, relating to air services between their respective territories and beyond, signed in Dubai on March 10, 2020, has been examined by the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly. The said bill (No 1080/PJL/AN) was defended on November 17, 2020 by the Minister of Transport, Ernest Ngalle Bibehe, accompanied by the Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella before the Committee members headed by Hon. Emmanuel Bami, in the presence of the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Relations with Assemblies, Bolvine Wakata
The bill deals with issues relating to security and safety, grant of traffic rights and conditions for the designation and authorization of air carriers, repeal or suspension of service operation rights and claims, while specifying the terms of performance of the commercial activities of the designated airlines.
