Their performance in the Pre-CHAN tournament underway in Cameroon is clear indication that they will stop at nothing to grab the trophy.

Uganda, who is in Pool C alongside big competitors like Morocco, Togo and Rwanda is currently fine-tuning strategies to emerge victorious at the African Nations Championship (CHAN 2021) to be played in Cameroon from January 16 to February 7, 2021. But before entering in to the African continental jamboree, the nation that will be based in Douala was earmarked alongside three other nations to take part in the Pre-CHAN mini-tournament currently underway in Cameroon. Uganda was the first of the 16 teams participating in CHAN 2021 to set foot on Cameroonian soil on December 29. 2020. They held training sessions and their first match against Cameroon on January 1, 2021 ended with a draw after both nations battled coherently all through the game. 
As one of the mechanisms to stand out during the CHAN 2021 tournament, the Head Coach of the Ugandan Cranes, Johnathan McKinstry named a provisional 28-man squad.
