Douglas Achingale Handi-basket Tournament : Young Stars Emerge Winners

They beat All Stars 37 points to 30 during the final game of the second edition of the competition that took place recently.

The second edition of the Douglas Achingale Handi-basket tournament which began on Saturday December 12, 2020 has officially come to an end with Young Stars carrying the trophy. To emerge victorious, they had to trash All Stars 37 points to 30 in a final game that took place recently at the Cardinal Paul Emile Leger National Centre for Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities (CNRPH) in Yaounde.  All Stars carried home the second prize and was host to the best player of the tournament, Jonas Ndema. Meanwhile Phillipe Touongo of Young Stars emerged the best scorer. Indeed, his input just like that of his team mates in the final game was laudable. Though a tough encounter, Young Stars succeeded to hang so many baskets putting their opponents on a tight corner. Nonetheless, All stars fought a tough fight to the end. They had decisive passes and a watertight defence but the finishing at each opportunity was questionable. This was rather a point of strength to Young Stars as at most of the times they sent a decisive shot to the net, two points were counted. All Stars seemed to be handicapped by the fact they were just from playing a semifinal game against Wheel Stars which ended 27 baskets to 25. Due to the steadfastness of both teams, the match...
