Stephanie Tum : Waxing Strong As Movie Producer

Her latest movie, “Saving Mbango” took home the Jury Award and best actor at the just-ended Ecrans Noirs film festival.

33-year-old Stephanie Tum has been thriving in her new venture as a movie producer.  Her debut movie, “Saving Mbango”, won two awards at the just-ended Ecrans Noirs film festival, that of best actor and the Jury Award. 
Stephanie Tum born in Bamenda, North West region started making her name heard in the cinema industry with the role she played in “The Giant Broom” produced by Oliver Awah Nde in 2005. In 2012 she acted in “Pink Poison” produced by Agbor Gilbert Ebot and in 2013, she featured in “VIRI” produced by Nkanya Nkwai. Stephanie continued striving in the industry and in 2017, she acted in “Shrill” produced by Soli Egbe and “Little Cindy” directed by BillyBob Lifungo. It was in 2019 that Stephanie kicked off her producing career with the movie “Saving Mbango” under her production company, Embi Productions. Less than two years after its release, the movie has been writing its name in the golden books of the cinema industry both home and abroad. In 2019, “Saving Mbango” won the Best Feature Film New Breed Africa Celebrity Award and Best Feature Film Black Continental Independent Movie Awards USA 2020.
