Swiss Super League : Jean Pierre Nsame Named Best Player

The Cameroonian striker who is taking home this title for the second conservative time received his trophy at the League’s award ceremony organised on Thursday January 21, 2021.

Indomitable lion, Jean Pierre Nsamé has one again been named Swiss Super League championship player of the 2020 calendar for the second conservative time. The BSC Young Boys of Bern striker received his trophy at the Swiss Football League Awards ceremony organized on Thursday, January 21, 2021. 
The 28-year-old retained the crown owing to his excellent performances during last year’s championship season. The Young Boys of Bern forward raised the bar high to his favour by scoring 41 goals in 46 games in all competitions in a record breaking 2019-2020 season. Nsame as well scored 32 goals in the championship, finishing the season as the lead scorer for Club and the championship at the same time. This excellent performance earned Young Boys a domestic double of the League and Cup titles and made Nsame to win the 2019-2020 Transfermkt player of the season award. He became the first Cameroonian footballer to win the prestigious award. 
It should be recalled that in his first season at Young Boys, he was part of the squad that won the Super League title for the first time in 32 years.  They clinched the title with a 2–1 victory over Lucerne on April 28, 2018, with Nsame scoring an 89th minute winner.  He helped the club retain their title the following campaign, scoring 15 go...
