Fight Against Covid-19: Medical Doctors, Pharmacists For Vaccination

Prime Minister, Head of Government Joseph Dion Ngute on April 6, 2021 had discussions with medical officials.

Medical doctors and pharmacists in Cameroon want government to engage in vaccination as an effective way of protecting the population against the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute on April 6, 2021 had discussion with the President of the National Order of Medical Doctors of Cameroon Dr Sandjon Guy and the President of the National Council of Pharmacists of Cameroon, Dr  Dange Nana Franck within the framework of government’s response strategic against the Covid-19 pandemic in Cameroon.

Speaking after the in-camera discussions in which the Prime Minister was assisted by his close aides, the President of the National Council of Pharmacists of Cameroon, Dr Dange Nana Franck told the press that they came to explain their work to the Head of Government. Concerning the fight against the ravaging Covid-19 pandemic, he said, “We explained to the Prime Minister the need for government to protect the population and to do so we need vaccines.” He said vaccination against the spread of the virus was necessary, in addition to other prescribed restrictive measures. Dr Dange said vaccines have side effects like all other medicines but with the vaccination the spread of the coronavirus can be contained. He cited, especially African countries such as Ghana, Togo and Senegal that have started using the vaccines against the Covid-19 pandemic and stressed that “We need to join other countries of the world to vaccinate our population.”
