NW Regional Council : Pioneer Programme Budget Adopted

The FCFA 3 billion to be funded by Decentralization Fund and some non-State partners prioritizes peace building efforts, setting up of Regional Council etc.

The violation of some principles raised by Regional Councillors did not stop the adoption of FCFA 3 billion as the Pioneer Programme budget of the Regional Council on June 2, 2021. It was however, not without considerations for some complexities and constraints of the times.   In effect, Regional Assembly members debated and adopted the budget and deliberations to facilitate execution of the budget. 
Deliberations stressed the need to limit spending on weak and risky areas in the face of the socio-political and security challenges rocking the region. The Regional President, Prof. Fru Angwafo III said the budget prioritizes peace building and features high intensity manual activities within the next six months covered by the budget. He told the Assembly that the budget respects the canons of a budget for the people. The budget which is funded by the Decentralization Fund and some non-State partners covers the running and setting up of the Regional Council, some basic social services, promotion of economic development, promotion of citizenship and youth support.
