Christmas, New Year Break: Amity Kids Impress Parents, Guests At School Party

Traditional activities to end the year and First Term held in Yaounde on December 21, 2016.

 

Amity International Nursery and Primary School, Bastos, Yaounde, is no ordinary school. This was again demonstrated on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, through the cross-cutting cultural activities presented by the kids as they ended the First Term of the 2016/2017 school year.

In the presence of parents, guardians and guests, the kids presented a carnival show, danced recorded music and traditional dances, recited poems and performed a sketch on the danger posed by malaria. Other activities were recitation of rhymes, magic show, news bulletin, Taekwondo display and fashion parade showcasing various Cameroonian and international cultures, representing the origin and nationalities of the school children.

Addressing the gathering, the Principal, Umit Soydan, recalled that Amity International Nursery and Primary School last school year scored 100 per cent – all in List “A” - in the Government Common Entrance Examination; and also 100 per cent in the First School Leaving Certificate Examination.
