Social Democratic Front : Renewal Of Electoral Wards On Course

The Social Democratic Front (SDF) has started the nationwide renewal of the executive bureaus of the its grassroots structures, an operation that will steadily culminate in the party’s elective convention that will come up in 2023.
The Secretary General of the SDF, Senator Jean Tsomelou told Cameroon Tribune that at the moment, the operation is at the level of Wards. He said each Ward corresponds to a council. After the renewal of the executive bureaus of the Wards, the next phase with be the election of the executive bureaus of Electoral Districts that correspond to Council areas or Subdivisions. 
The Regional Executive Committee of the Social Democratic Front for the Centre, started preparing for the renewal operation earlier. In a meeting held in the Centre Regional Secretariat on August 30, 2021 chaired by the Regional President, Emmanuel Ntonga, the electoral calendar was set up for the holding of various conferences to renew party’s grassroots structures.  They also designated supervisory commissions for the renewal and creation of new Wards for the various Divisions and Electoral Districts. Following the electoral calendar which certainly corresponds to what obtains in the other Regions, the renewal of existing Wards and creation of new Wards was programmed for September 1 to October 31, 2021. November 1- 30, 2021 is set aside for the renewal at Electoral Districts, December 1-31, 2021 set aside for the renewal of Divisional Coordination structures and January 1 -31, 2022 will be the period for the renewal of Regions.
The current renewal of the structures of the Social Democratic Front has all stakes for the future of the party. This is because it comes at the time the SDF has witnessed a nose-dive in its political fortunes. The SDF is the second political party in the 100-membe...
