The Army Chief of Staff, Rene Claude Meka, paid a courtesy call on the South West Governor, Bernard Okalia Bilai, in his office yesterday morning before moving down to the 21st Mobile Infantry Battalion premises where briefings and presentations were made by local Gendarmerie, Army and Police authorities.
The Army Chief of Staff had in his sleeves a heightened mission to evaluate the security, defence and health situation of the Second Military Region. The mission was more sensitive this time with regards to the end-of-year-feast approaching this December, and the continental football feast billed from 9 January to 6 February, 2022, in Cameroon with Limbe/Buea site in the South West Region hosting Pool F of the African Nations’ Football Cup.
