AFCON 2017: Paulo Duarte, Impeccable Tactician

The return of the 46-year-old trainer to the Burkina Faso might bring hope to fans.

 

Portuguese tactician Paulo Duarte is in charge of the Stallions of Burkina Faso at the AFCON 2017 in Gabon.  The 46-year-old trainer is coaching the Burkina Faso squad for the second time. He replaces Gernot Rohr at the helm of the Stallions. His contract began this month after signing a two-year contract with the team Burkina Faso Football Federation. His rich experience is expected to bring a boost to the squad.

Duarte, who led Burkina Faso to the 2010 and 2012 Africa Cup of Nations’ finals, had seen his first stint with the Stallions come to an end after failing to get past the first round of the continental showpiece on both occasions. The former Gabon and CS Sfaxien coach has as objective to qualify Burkina for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
