Eséka Train Accident: Laquintinie Hospital Benefits

Much of the contributions is being channelled for hospital use as well as to help other patients who cannot foot their bills.

 

The Laquintinie Hospital in Douala has become hub for goodwill contributions from individuals and structures, who have not ceased to support the Eséka train accident victims of October 21, 2016 in the Centre Region. Contributions of medical drugs, equipment and beddings as well as money and food items continue to flow in from individuals, companies and some diplomatic missions represented in the country.

To Sandra Ekedi, Communication Officer, those making the contributions are being oriented to rather meet pressing needs like equipment, drugs and blood. The food items were distributed to patients in the hospital on December 23, while drugs are being offered freely to patients who are unable to afford them. Equipment and beddings have been distributed for use in various wards where these were lacking.
