Indecency In Schools: Basic Education Teacher Suspended

Minister Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa in a recent decision has suspended an instructor for repeated acts of embezzlement and sexual harassment on minors.

The fight against moral decadence in primary schools nationwide continues in the Ministry of Basic Education. The Minister of Basic Education, Laurent Serge Etoudi Ngoa has lifted up the Sword of Damocles and it keeps falling on morally indecent teachers in various schools in the country. The latest of such actions is contained in decision number 03/B/205196/MINEDUB/SG/DAJ, of January 6, 2022, by Professor Laurent Serge Etoudi Ngoa suspending a teacher from his function with the ministry. In effect, article one of the decision reads “Pursuant to articles 108 and 109 of decree number 94/99 of October 7, 1994 of the above, Mr Wafo Serges Gabriel, a general education teacher with registration number: 0-539 276, is from the date of signature of the present decision, suspended from his functions for a period of four months for serious misconduct materialized by repeated acts of attempted embezzlement and sexual harassment on minors.” This is just one in a series of decisions in which the Minister of Basic Education has signed of late suspending and sanctioning school head teachers with questionable morals.
