Douala: Temperatures Drop Sharply After Rains

People who spent much time under air conditioners and fans to brave hot weather have enjoyed a few days without them.

Residents of Douala, Cameroon’s economic capital, have enjoyed a drop in temperatures as heavy rains hit the city at the peak of the dry season a couple of days ago.

An unusual fresh weather got many to their beds early to sleep without air conditioners and fans as one of the few moments ever experienced in the city since the onset of the dry season in mid-November.

Before rains hit the city that night, residents ill-equipped to handle the heat waves who were left struggling to sleep for its heat (as the city was experiencing peak dry weather), stayed awake sitting in verandahs and in opens spaces to get fresh air. The threatening temperatures was 30 degrees Celsius, before the downpours.
