Brothers Animating Squads

The Ayew’s of Ghana, Mmaee’s of Morocco and the Gomis brothers are some of star examples participating in the ongoing AFCON.

The 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is ongoing and being spiced up with the presence of brothers in some of the squads. The Ayew brothers in the Ghanaian squad and the Mmaee’s in the Moroccan team just like the Gomis brothers playing in two different teams participating in the competition are some of the prominent cases. Jordan and André Ayew of Ghana, given their rich professional experience could not have been left out by head coach Milovan Rajevac. 32-year-old Andre who plays for Al-Saad, Qatar and captain of the Ghanaian team, is optimistic that even after their first defeat by Morocco in the 2021 AFCON, they will sail through to the second round. The Ayew family, it should be said, has produced several prolific footballers that have made the Black Stars shine.
Morocco who defeated Ghana in the opener is equally being animated by another pair of brothers, the Mmaee’s. They are defender Samy Mmaee and forward Ryan Mmaee who all play for Ferencvaros, Hungary.
