CAN TotalEnergies 2021 : Publication Packages Cameroon’s Potentials

A 76-page magazine conceived by the Ministry of Communication showcases the country’s rich capabilities in hosting the continental tournament.

Unique aptitudes of Cameroon in hosting the 33rd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, a presentation of the host sites, AFCON officials and schedule, Cameroonian football legends and sight-seeing in Cameroon have been presented in a bilingual magazine produced by the Ministry of Communication titled, “Living AFCON”.
The publication opens with an excerpt of the speech of the President of the Republic to the nation on December 31, 2021, in which he calls on Cameroonians to show hospitality to visitors. “Let us offer our guests the rich cultural diversity that has earned our country the nickname “Africa in miniature”. Let us extend to them the hospitality they rightfully expect from us, and which is part and parcel of our traditions,” highlights the extract.
An editorial by the Minister of Communication, René Emmanuel Sadi, presents infrastructural (stadiums, hotels and roads) advancements made, health dispositions adopted and other mechanisms put in place by government as well as a well-developed media coverage plan for the competition. To the Minister, it is therefore a great opportunity to showcase the real worth of Cameroon to the world. He justifies the publication of the event brochure as part of the ambition in building Cameroon’s image on the occasion of the TotalEnergies AFCON Cameroon 2021 and contributing to the influence of African football. “We should, throughout this great event, always bear in mind that this AFCON, is above all, a celebration of our coming together and gladness, during which our fundamental values of peace, unity and mutual tolerance, as well as our very welcoming and legendary hospitality spirit should prevail,” noted the Minister in his editorial.
