Senegalese Solidarity : Over 80 Journalists In Bafoussam

A huge crowd of sportsmen and women from the West African country flood the press centre in Bafoussam during match days.

The Senegalese contingent at the Bafoussam press centre is worth mentioning. A huge crowd of sportsmen and women all of Senegalese origin flood the press centre especially on the days when the Teranga Lions are playing. What has caught the attention of the other journalists is the way in which they operate. Apart from being present in the stadium, they are always in a group. They arrive at the stadium at the same and they move together. They put on the same uniforms written on them, “Presse Senegal”. 
In this competition, there is no differentiation. One of the sports journalists, Diedhiou Lamine Mandiang who works for Stades Newspaper in Senegal said there are many sports journalists in Senegal and many media as well. He said since 2002, they had decided to live together. He said here in Bafoussam, they are lodged in the same hotel. “To come to the stadium we take the same bus and to go back we take the same. We have the same WhatsApp group with 250 members where we share information. In every AFCON as well we create a WhatsApp group where we share the same information...
