Nigeria-Tunisia : A Meeting Of Eagles

Both Teams will clash on Sunday in Garoua.

Is the town of Garoua and the Roumde Adjia stadium a lucky play ground for the Super Eagles of Nigeria? This question would be answered on the 23rd of January 2022 when they take on the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia for the round of 16 knock-outs. After three matches during which they emerged the only team in the tournament to score nine points in the group stage, the Super Eagles will be welcoming their fellow Eagles with more enthusiasm. It will be the eighth times that both teams are meeting at the final phase of the AFCON competition.
Looking at their head-to-head statistics, one is tempted to say the encounter is that of David versus Goliath. This is because in terms of AFCON silverware, the Super Eagles have more to take home than the Carthage Eagles. They have won the trophy thrice as against once for the Carthage. Nigerian Coach Augustine Eguavoen who has been very meticulous in the used of his players is expected to bring back his regular squad into the starting line-up after resting them on the last day of group D match against Guinea Bissau.
