Equatorial Guinea-Sierra Leone : Nzalang Nacional into the Knockout stage

The lone goal scored at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium yesterday takes them to the next stage of the competition with six points.

Equatorial Guinea is now into the knockout stage of AFCON. This follows their one-nil victory over Sierra Leone at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium in a match that concluded Pool E based in Douala. The win put them six points, coming second behind group leaders, Côte d’Ivoire with seven points. 
Equatorial Guinea goal came through Pablo Ganet Comitre at the 37th minute. He had received a pass from Ivan Edu Salvador that came from a corner kick before sending it pass Sierra Leone goalkeeper Mohamed N Kamara. Sierra Leone had a chance to come back into the match at the 82nd minute of play when Pablo Ganet Comitre committed a fault. But Kei Kamara’s penalty was pushed out for a corner by Equatorial Guinea goal Keeper, Jesus Lazaro Owono Ngua. Drama ensured at the 93 minute when centre referee, Mohamed Mansour of Egypt, awarded Equatorial Guinea a penalty. Before it was taken, he canceled it and set the ball for a free kick following directives from video assistant referees.
