Congo Basin Forest : Networking Opportunities Examined

Prime Minister, Joseph Dion Ngute granted an audience to that effect to the German Facilitator to the Congo Basin on January 24, 2022.

Within the framework of protecting the Congo Basin forest by reducing its emission of greenhouse gases, the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute received in audience the German Facilitator to the Congo Basin, Dr. Christian Ruck on January 24, 2022. Both personalities examined progress made in safeguarding the second biggest lung of human survival (a natural habitat that takes in carbon dioxide and sends out oxygen) and the need for partnerships to be strengthened to prevent the ecosystem from degrading. 
In his declaration to journalists after the audience, Dr Christian Ruck, who was accompanied to the audience by the German Ambassador to Cameroon, Dr. Corinna Fricke, said their vision (partnership vision) is to develop the Congo Basin with all its richness in a way that keeps the functioning of the natural habitat in the best possible way.   “Our Congo Basin Forest Partnership had an opportunity which was to establish a deal between the international community and the Congo Basin. Cameroon is a very important country in the Congo Basin and it occupies an acting presidency for the Central African Forest Commission (COMIFAC). The vision is to develop the Congo Basin with all its richness in a way that keeps the functioning of the second biggest lung of survival of life. It is very difficult but very important for the African sphere and the global climate,” he explained.
