Cheik Ahmadou Bamba : Saviour Indeed!

Cheik Ahmadou Bamba Dieng is the saviour of the Teranga Lions of Senegal. The 21-year-old forward scored the winning goal for Senegal during the eighth final match against Cape Verde on January 25, 2022 at the Bafoussam Omnisport Stadium. Senegal had struggled to secure a goal at the 63rd minute. However, Bamba Dieng’s late gaol sealed the win for Senegal and secured a place for the Teranga Lions at the quarterfinals. From his performance, Bamba Dieng was elected Man of the Match by the CAF jury. 
Talking to journalists during the post-match press conference, Cheik Ahmadou Bamba Dieng said he and his team mates were able to make it through thanks to the instructions from the coach.  He said it was a great pleasure for him to win the trophy of Man of the Match.
