Live Burkina Faso-Tunisia : Stallions Dump Carthage Eagles

During one of the AFCON quarter-finals match played at the Roumde Adjia stadium, the Burkinabe team beat Tunisia 1-0.

The Stallions of Burkina Faso last Saturday sent one of the 2021 AFCON favourites the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia crashing out of the competition. Playing at the Roumde Adjia stadium, the Burkinabe side humbled the North Africans 1-0 to move into the semi-finals hitch-free. Dressed in white as against red for Tunisia, the Burkinabe began the encounter with a lot of determination especially at the midfield where despite having a less ball possession, won most of the dwells that saw Gustav Sangare, Adama Guira and Ibrahim Toure coordinating well with the attackers through long passes that paid-off at the late minutes of the first half (47th), when striker Dango Ouattara received an excellent slot from teammate mesmerised between two Tunisian players before netting the first and only goal of the encounter that took the two teams into the dressing room for the end of the first half.
Though the second segment of the game began on a higher tone, with the Tunisians trying to level score, the Burkinabe with the excellent command of their goalkeeper and captain, Babyoure Aboubacar held the game tied by not only thwarting most of the Carthage Eagles assaults, but coming closed to aggravate scores several times. Had it not been the naivety of her attackers, the Stallions would have extended the lead.
